Minneriya National Park
Minneriya National Park, located in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province, is famous for “The Gathering,” an annual event where hundreds of wild elephants come to the Minneriya Tank to drink, bathe, and socialize, usually from July to September. This park is also home to diverse wildlife, including deer, macaques, and a range of bird species like cormorants and painted storks, making it a must-visit for wildlife and nature enthusiasts.
Jeep Safari
A jeep safari offers an adventurous way to explore the wildlife and landscapes of national parks. With open-air vehicles designed for rugged terrain, visitors can get close to animals in their natural habitats while maintaining a safe distance. Jeep safaris are popular in many destinations, including Sri Lanka’s national parks like Minneriya, Yala, and Kaudulla, providing the best chance to observe elephants, leopards, deer, and a variety of bird species. The experience combines excitement with scenic views, making it ideal for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.
